What Is Acupuncture

Acupuncture and Acupressure are ancient methods of healing and balancing the body by:

Acting as a natural pain relief option that works without surgery or drugs.
Relaxing the muscles and releasing holding patterns in the body causing negative symptoms/or health conditions.
Improving function in the organs which may be the underlying root cause of poor health.
Applying treatment to specific points on the body to eliminate or relieve pain, stress, and many negative symptoms in the body.
Increasing endorphins (feel good hormones) which decrease stress patterns and can help alleviate addictions or maladaptive patterns.

Believe it or not; Acupressure came before Acupuncture and they both have their original root in Traditional Chinese medicine. These effective methods of healing have been a mainstay treatment in China for well over 2000 years. Today Acupuncture is becoming increasingly more popular as many of us are not being satisfied with our other health care options. Acupuncture is a great natural alternative.

Acupuncture traditionally uses small sterile needles to promote movement of Qi (energy) to clear blockages in the body. Acupressure uses the hands to stimulate pressure points to clear blockages. The Acu-points being stimulated run along specific pathways (meridians), mapped out in the body many years ago, and they connect with your internal organs. Therefore true Chinese Acupuncture is not about using a few local needles to relax a muscle it is about correcting the root or underlying cause of your pain, stress, health problem or the negative symptoms that you are experiencing.

Acupuncture or Acupressure can be used to treat many conditions or symptoms in your body including, pain of all kinds, arthritis, stress, anti-aging, insomnia, allergies, digestive problems, depression, anxiety, skin problems migraines, sinus problems, addictions, ADHD, diabetes, poor circulation, lung problems, and much more.

Today Acupuncture is now recognised by the World Health Organization to treat many different conditions.
